We have a 24 hour cancelation policy. If you need to cancel your appointment please call or e-mail us with at least 24 hours, if not we do charge the entire session fee. We try and contact you the day before, plus two days before your appointment. If we do not hear back, we do assume that you are keeping your appointment. If you do cancel or miss two appointments consecutively, we will not be able to schedule any additional appointments due to the inability to commit to therapy. Before you call and schedule an appointment, we do ask that you make therapy a commitment.

Therapy Session Payment:

Your payment for your session is due during your session. Per our contract if your payment is over 15 days past due we reserve the right to send your information to a collection agency.

Booking Therapy Sessions with Our Therapists:

We do schedule current clients for sessions the month before, this means that new client are able to be seen based on limited availability. We do everything in our power to schedule consecutive sessions at a time that is convenient for everyone. However, this is not always possible. For this reason we have a cancelation list. This list is used to schedule a client, in case we have an opening for that week.

Emergency Therapy Situations:

If you or someone you know has had thoughts about suicide, is talking about suicide please call 211 or 911. If someone you know has homicidal thoughts or is talking about killing someone please call 911.

Confidentiality in Therapy:

As a therapist, we are mandated abuse reporters, if you or a loved one do talk about abuse concerns (even if it is not about you) we are mandated by law to report the incident. Confidentiality in therapy sessions is a must, however, by law we do have to report suicide, homicide and abuse (any kind) to either DCF or law enforcement. This includes suspected abuse, and as mandated reporters we can disclose everything we talk about in sessions without a release of information. If you want to know what your child, teen or young adult is discussing in therapy, you must have this discussion with them. If they wish to invite you into their therapy session that is completely up to them.

Divorce and Custody Cases:

We ask that all family members participate in therapy sessions. Upon your initial phone call you will be asked to notify all guardians about your minor participating in therapy sessions. If guardians can not come to an agreement about therapy sessions, we will not be able to proceed with sessions. We do not participate in custody trials or mediation, we ask that you find a family therapist who would be able to help.

Good Faith Estimate for Counseling Services:

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
