What Teens Will Work On

Our social skills curriculum focuses on practical skills teens can use daily:

Communication & Conversations

Learn how to start, maintain, and end conversations with confidence and clarity.

Social Awareness & Cues

Practice recognizing facial expressions, tone, and social signals in real interactions.

Boundaries & Peer Interaction

Develop healthy boundaries, respect others’ space, and navigate peer dynamics.

Emotional Regulation & Resilience

Build emotional awareness and tools to manage stress, anxiety, or peer pressure.

Friendship & Relationship Skills

Explore what makes friendships meaningful and how to nurture positive connections.

Benefits of Group Therapy for Teens

Group therapy provides unique advantages beyond individual counseling, including:

  • Real-life practice with peers

  • Therapist-guided feedback and support

  • Opportunities for role-playing and social learning

  • Confidence gained through shared experiences

  • Skills that apply at school, after school, and beyond

Participating in a teen social skills group can boost not only social confidence but also overall well-being, reduce isolation, and support emotional growth.

What Your Teen Will Be Able to Do

After participating, teens often:

  • Connect with new peers more comfortably

  • Read and respond to social cues

  • Set healthy boundaries with friends and family

  • Feel more at ease in social settings

  • Improve interactions at school and in the community

  • Approach new situations with confidence and self-assurance
